Mascara Reviews, pt 1

I went through a mascara phase when all I wore was mascara. And I'm also a general mascara junkie - I probably own at least 5-6 mascaras at any given time, and mascaras shouldn't be used for more than 3 months. And thus I've searched far and wide, drugstore and department stores, and have tried many.

My first mascara ever was Cover Girl Clear ... Mascara(?)
Not really sure it's an actual mascara being clear and all. It was good practice though. I don't actually remember it cuz it was when I was in middle school a long wayy back but it's clear mascara and I'm pretty sure it was for brows, so there's only so much it can do. ^^

Maybelline Great Lash in blackest black. It's immensely popular and I can't for the life of me understand why. I hated it. It was the worst mascara I ever used EVER, drugstore or not. It smudged, it clumped, it flaked, I seriously looked like an exhausted raccoon by the end of the day. After that one time use, it went straight into the trash. Sadly, that experience kept me away from mascara for the longest time. But I have a friend who loves mascara and she got me back into mascara and makeup in general but for the worst mascara I've ever tried in my life I give it a 0/5

Maybelline Full 'N Soft WP. I saw the good reviews on Makeup Alley and bought one. I definitely like this one. It lengthens, it volumizes, and it keeps my lashes pretty soft. The curling is pretty decent too, along with the price, especially since drug stores have sales all the time. I actually did an experiment with one of my roommates who didn't believe in mascara. I put Full N Soft on one eye and nothing on the other and she had to admit that she could see the difference. All this without a base too! I give it a 4/5

Lancome Defincils
. My mom always gets the gift with purchase stuff and she doesn't use mascara so naturally it comes into my willing hands & lashes. ^^ Definitely good stuff here. I doubt that I would pay the retail $22 that it sells for, but I have definitely considered it.

Estee Lauder More Than Mascara.
Only thing I can say about this one is that it darkens my lashes and sorta gives volume. If you were going for a super natural, barely there look then this would be the mascara for you. Unfortunately it's not that buildable since multiple coats starts making it clumpy. Many better mascaras out there.

Estee Lauder Magnascopic. Smudges and clumps like no other. Would never pay for this one.

Skinfood Chestnut Length.
I like it. A LOT. I can literally see my lashes becoming lengthened and darkened but not in a over the top kinda way. It leaves my lashes extremely soft and natural feeling. It does lack a little in the volume factor but since it doesn't claim to volumize that's fine with me. This would be my go to mascara for a barely there natural look.

Skinfood Banana Long Lash Curl Mascara. I like it less than the Chestnut Length one. It doesn't lengthen or curl as it says it should. It does get better with multiple coats but because it's more expensive than the Chestnut Length I expected it to work better. Definitely not for dramatic looks since it isn't really buildable for dramatics.

At the Beginning

Since this is a first post, I guess I should do a little introduction. I'm a closet makeup junkie as in I usually don't wear a lot of makeup outside the house mostly because I don't really have anywhere to wear it to. But I love buying, collecting, swatching, and wearing makeup inside my own home LoL

Although this is my first beauty blog; hopefully there will be something that interests or helps you. I'm hoping to put an array of stuff on it. Mostly pics, swatches, reviews, some tutorials & looks, the usual stuff. But I suppose this blog will be mostly for me. An outlet for my secret makeup obsession. I'll try to update regularly but this probably isn't the best time for me to start this blog since I have a bajillion other things to do. Oh well. Such is life. And now...it starts :D
