As you can tell, the Mac lipliner is the longest and contains the most product.
NYX has 0.04 oz or 1g
Rimmel has 0.04oz or 1.2g
Mac has 0.05oz or 1.45g
which tells me either nyx or rimmel has the wrong amount of grams or they estimated the oz -_-"
swatches:
L-R: NYX, Rimmel, Mac
L-R: NYX, Rimmel, Mac
swatched heavily
As you can tell from the swatches, I will say that NYX and the Rimmel are more of a berry red while Mac is more of an orange red. But to be honest I find blue-based reds to be more of a berry red on me than red.
And of course lip swatches ahead! :) apologizing ahead of time for the chapped lips -_-"

Since a lot of my red lipsticks are a bit on the darker side, I prefer Mac Redd to help brighten them up. Although they're used to line lips, I find wearing red lipliner with gloss on top to be a nice red lip also :) Do you have a favorite red lip liner?
Hope you're enjoying you're holidays! Merry Christmas!! :)

I've never bothered to use a lip liner, but it's probably a good choice since it helps lock in the color. I really like the color of the MAC one - it's the perfect shade of red :) NYX Hot Red looks really nice on you too though!
ReplyDeletehaha yeah the mac one is my fave too :) and on a day to day basis i don't usually bother with lipliner unless i'm going for a more high maintenace look ;D
ReplyDeleteI only have one lipliner and it's a neutral color. I need a red one! I was thinking of the MAC one, but I think I want the other type of lipliner rather than this pencil. Do you find it drying at all?
ReplyDeleteI can't compare it to the other mac lipliner but I do think that the other one is more moisturizing. I don't find this particularly drying but I wouldn't consider it moisturizing. I always apply lip balm underneath (not in these pics tho cuz i swatched them back to back xD) That makes the formula more creamy and helps spread the color more easily.
