Mac Blushes in Coygirl, Gingerly, Sunbasque

So I figured I would do a post on Coygirl blush since it's in the goodbye section of MAC which means it's being discontinued. Err it's sold out on the Mac website now -_- I can't believe how fast it sold out -__- so if you want it, you better hit your counters/stores. Hopefully this will be helpful for those who want to pick it up before it gets hard to find. And since I only have 2 other Mac blushes I figured I would swatch those as well. All three are part of the permanent collection (although coygirl is being discontinued) and are all sheertone which means they apply sheerly but can be built up for better pigmentation.

Coygirl is a cool, dusty lavender-pink color. On my cheeks it shows up pink with a touch of lilac. A lovely winter color although sometimes I do feel like it's a bit too cool-toned for me. I never would have picked this up by myself since I gravitate away from cool pinks but a Mac MUA applied this on me and I liked how it looked so I picked it up. I do feel like this would apply differently in terms of color on warm toned people versus cool toned people. On warm toned people the cool tones of the blush make it seem more of a dusty pink while on cool toned people it might apply more of a berry pink. It's very buildable and applies smoothly with a nice, matte finish.

Gingerly was one of those blushes I would never have picked up if I saw it with all the other blushes but then I was watching youtube videos and I saw a few videos recommending it and found out Kim Kardashian wore it so of course I picked it up. This was my daily blush until Tarte Exposed took over. It looks similar to Sunbasque in the swatch picture but in real life it's more rosier and has more red than Sunbasque. It has a matte finish and is good for a natural look.

Sunbasque was my first Mac blush (possibly the first blush I've ever bought). And it is to this day it is my favorite go-to blush for nights out. Unlike my other 2 Mac blushers, this one is not a matte finish and has shimmers in it to give it a nice sheen. This gives me a nice bronzey glow and I can't imagine being without it.

I obviously do not have that many Mac blushes and definitely want to pick up some more.
What's your favorite Mac blush?

  1. I don't have a favourite MAC blush but the only one I had for the longest time was Blushbaby. Coygirl is way too pink for my liking but I'm always looking at Sunbasque at the counters now. It'll probably be a matter of time before I bring it home...!

  2. Coygirl is really pretty! The other 2 colors are nice too, but they look like they would be too dark for me unless I used them as bronzer or something :)

  3. Harmony! :D But since you have Gingerly, it's prolly close enough. Maybe Fever or Frankly Scarlet?

  4. @Liz do it!!! i <333 sunbasquee! it gives sucha nice bronzey gloww

@Rinny the swatches are actually built up pretty heavily and since it's sheertone they don't come off too pigmented. i know a lot of light skinned girls who love gingerly! :)

@Larie ooh i was actually curious to see if frankly scarlet is close to bite of apple ^^ will try to swatch those nxt time i go to a counter :D
