These are the only other mineralized eye shadows I own and I bought all of them except for Blue Flame because I won't ever wear a blue glittery mineralized eyeshadow and I already own Sea & Sky. But if you can find them, I do think they are definitely worth at least checking out. Obviously these are not meant for daily use (although I suppose if you were daring and not working in a professional setting you probably could if you wanted?) I usually save them for nights out though so they don't see that much use ^^ Although I have used these, so the pretty swirled mineralized designs have been blended away xD
As part of the Style Black collection, these shadows were created to be used over a black base which I was too cheap to buy their greasestick or whatever it's called and so I swatched the shadows dry without any base and then over a black base (NYX Jumbo Eye in Black Bean). You'll also get great pigmentation if foiled but I don't like getting my eyeshadows wet so no foiled swatches
Numero 1. Gilt by Association. This one is probably the most wearable even on a day to day basis.
L: without base, R: with base
#2: Cinderfella
L: no base, R: with base
#3: Young Punk
L: no base, R: with base
It's a bit brighter purple but my camera couldn't capture the purple that well >,<
As you can see from the swatches, the eyeshadows are pretty terrible swatched dry but over a black base the glitter and color comes alive! I believe using the eyeshadows wet will give you a slightly brighter version of base swatches. Used dry, I think Gilt by Association does give you the best payoff. As with many other mineralized eyeshadows, there is definite fall out but you can minimize it depending on application.
L-R: Young Punk dry, YP base, Cinderfella dry, C base, Gilt by Association dry, GBA base
Do you own any of these shadows? Would you buy any of them if it were to make a come back?

They're gorgeous but I don't feel like I have to have them. Not just because I just finished an inventory of shadows, but I always look at the mineralize shadows and end up walking away. They kind of seem like a lot of work, to wet the brush and prevent fallouts.
ReplyDeletei think working with a black base is much easier than working with wet shadows although i'm not sure that works with all mineralized shadows and i was doing a swatchfest looking for dupes of a shadow and i was a little overwhelmed with how many shadows i had xD
